This Heritage Day, gather the family, lace up your hiking shoes and join us at Monks Gin Distillery for a proudly South African day in the outdoors. We’re celebrating Heritage Day / Braai Day the way it should be celebrated - with fresh air, beautiful scenery, a lekker braai, live music, games and good company.
The day kicks off at 10:00 at Monks Gin Distillery, where we’ll set off on the Bakkrans 5KM Hike. Along the route, hikers can look forward to scenic surroundings and a waterfall stop with a little surprise waiting along the way.
The hike is only the beginning. Once everyone is back, settle in and enjoy an afternoon at Monks with live music under the tent, good food straight from the braai and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
What’s happening on the day?
🥾 Bakkrans 5KM Hike
Starting at 10:00 from Monks Gin Distillery.
💦 Waterfall Stop
Take in the scenery along the hiking route, with a surprise waiting at the waterfall.
🎶 Live Music
Kick back after the hike and enjoy live music under the tent.
⛳ Golf Chip-in-the-Bucket Challenge
Think you've got the perfect short game? Take your shot and stand a chance to win prizes.
🔥 Heritage Day Braai
Because it wouldn’t be Braai Day without something cooking over the fire.
- Boerewors Rolls, served with tomato & onion relish.
- Organic Chicken Sosaties, served with salsa on a bun.

Adults: R150 per person
Kids under 14: FREE
Tickets can be purchased online in advance or on the day.
